Despite a life-long obsession with journals and all things paper, I had never really thought about the possibility of making a book by hand.  That changed a few years ago when, on a whim, I joined a journal making workshop in a small art gallery in Cambridge, England.  The joy that I felt at creating a beautiful and functional little journal, sewing the signatures, cutting the boards and using hand-marbled paper on the covers has never left me.

That first handmade journal in progress, with compulsory cake….

In the years since then, I have continued to study and practice this ancient craft and the joy and passion just grows.  As does the collection of papers, papers and more papers.

Now based in New Jersey, USA I continue to create unique handmade books in a range of styles and inspirations.  My books range from traditional bindings incorporating hand-decorated papers to informal notebooks incorporating recycled papers and up-cycled pages from old books.

I hope you enjoy seeing my work, please get in touch here if you have any comments!
